Abi Falase is a London-based non-binary writer. A graduate of Coventry University with a degree in Theatre and Professional Practice, Abi works at the Almeida Theatre in the Participation Department. Abi directed WRITING THE CLIMATE, a series of short digital plays written by Almeida Young Activists which were a part of Almeida Participation’s Shifting Tides Festival.  They are Associate Director of Carmen Nasr’s play THE MALADIES written for the Almeida Young Company and has worked with the company, director Diyan Zora and Carmen to develop the piece since November 2019.

Abi was Creative Producer on new podcast BRINGIN’ IT UP working with young Black creatives aged 14 -18 responding to the themes and ideas of Lolita Chakrabarti’s play HYMN. They created the Anthem Playwriting project, working with Ola Animashawun to nurture and develop young Black playwrights aged 18 – 25.

In 2021 Abi was shortlisted as part of the BBC Scriptworks A Thousand Stories scriptwriting competition. Known for their sharp observation and comedic tone, Abi is a writer for hire and writer of original comedy and drama.
