Loukman is a Ugandan cinematographer, screenwriter, director, producer, and graphic designer. His directorial debut was MONDAY, followed up by THE BLACK MEXICAN released in 2017. THE GIRL IN THE YELLOW JUMPER which he wrote and directed premiered in the US at the Urbanworld Film Festival in 2021 and Loukman directed feature film BROTHERHOOD which premiered at the Moscow Film Festival in 2023. The film won Best Nigerian Film at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2023. Loukman wrote, directed, shot and choreographed three short films between 2021 and 2023; THE BLIND DATE, SIXTEEN ROUNDS and UBUNTU UPPERCUT. He most recently directed the opening episode of AFRICAN FOLKTALES, REIMAGINED for Steven Markovitz’s Big World Cinema and Netflix. He is currently developing an action feature for Big World as well as other feature and limited series ideas on spec.
