Emma Olsen is a New Zealander of Fijian Indian, Italian, and Norwegian descent. Emma is an award winning stand up comedian. She began performing comedy at the age of 18 and won her first comedy award at 19. Emma won the NZ National Raw Comedy Award at 20 and won Best Newcomer at the Wellington Comedy Awards. Emma’s national comedy tour with the all female comedy troupe The Commediettes travelled widely and garnered critical acclaim from publications including TVNZ, Scoop News, and Theatre review.
In 2014 Emma Produced THE PENINSULA, a documentary that recalls the exceptional journey through North Korea by famed entrepreneur Gareth Morgan and his wife Joanne Morgan. THE PENINSULA screened at film festivals around the world. Emma has also worked as an actress, production manager, stage manager, copywriter, and script reader. When not developing original projects, Emma works as a script doctor and screenwriter-for-hire.
Emma’s feature length Horror/Psychological Thriller screenplay CREPUSCULAR was nominated for Best Screenplay in the 2018 Woman in Horror Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.
